Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks, helping get emergency food to people in crisis. At Oldham Foodbank, there are lots of ways to get involved — from collecting donations and packing parcels to admin, deliveries, social media, business links and fundraising. Whatever role you choose, you’ll make a real difference, while building skills, gaining experience, and giving back to your local community.

Trustees

We’re looking for new trustees to help guide Oldham Foodbank as we develop and strengthen our services. This is a chance to make a real difference locally, tackling food poverty while supporting people facing crisis and hardship across Oldham.

We welcome applications from anyone, but we’re particularly interested in people with experience in:

  • Local social services, NHS or care services
  • Charity governance (policies, procedures, oversight)
  • Oldham Council or local partnerships
  • Health & Safety or insurance
  • Lived experience of using a foodbank

Trustees share responsibility for setting the strategic direction of the charity, ensuring good governance, agreeing plans and budgets, and making sure our work reflects our values and serves our community well.
